Thirty covers and one face
The images and Danish-language sources behind this account, and why a four-year career leaves such a long paper trail.
The images
The portraits come from publisher listings and a 2014 photograph that has become the standard later-life image. They are non-explicit, credited to their sources and reproduced at their original proportions. The early covers are more revealing of the era than of the person: heavy typography, painted backdrops and the distinct gloss of late-1990s European adult marketing.
A performer who worked before digital photography was ubiquitous leaves fewer images than a contemporary star, but the ones that survive are unusually consistent. La Cour photographed well in stillness, with a direct gaze that made her seem slightly amused by the whole enterprise. That quality is visible in almost every surviving frame.
The Danish record
The Danish Wikipedia article on Sussi la Cour is the fullest single source, with references to Berlingske, BT and TV2. It covers the films, the sitcom, the underwear company, the biography and the marriage to Marco Dollenz. The English Wikipedia entry redirects to it, which is a useful reminder that her reputation is primarily a Danish one.
The Internet Adult Film Database supplies the industry data: birth date, birthplace, active years, height, measurements and the 61 credits. The AVN nomination lists from 2000 and 2001 are archived and confirm the four nominations. Everything else comes from interviews and press coverage, which tend to be more interested in her second career than her first.
The gaps
There is no reliable account of her childhood, her family or her reasons for choosing adult film at 29. She has discussed the work without dramatising it, and the Danish press has largely respected that reticence. The result is a biography with a conspicuous hole where the origin story should be.
That absence is worth noting rather than filling. A performer who entered the business as an adult, left it on her own terms and built a second career does not need a discovery narrative. The interesting material is in the choices, not in the circumstances that preceded them.
